E3(?) 2020: PS5 The Future Of Gaming

The week that would have been E3 2020 is just about over. Despite not having an actual, proper event, several different companies have put their own individual presentations. I debated covering all of them, but decided that I would only focus on the ones that I was particularly interested in, which are the same ones that I did predictions for. That’s not to say that there isn’t anything good shown at the other shows (Persona 4 on PC!) but I just wanted to focus on stuff that would have been in a normal E3, for the most part. And so, let’s talk about that Future Of Gaming show that Sony put on. Continue reading

E3(?) 2020 Predictions

This has been a pretty weird year, right? I don’t really need to get into how unprecedented the times are, you’ve heard it all already, but as a result, there is no E3 this year. Now, how am I supposed to do E3 predictions when there isn’t an E3?  Well, thankfully there’s a bunch of little events that more or less replace E3 this year, so we’ll just use those. Top Ten Games Of 2018

2018 was a very weird year for me. On one hand, it was a very good year with plenty of great games, even if it didn’t reach the same heights as 2017. On the other hand, this is a year that I struggled to find time to actually play those games. As a result, a lot of the games on this list are ones that I haven’t finished. But, regardless, these are my ten favorite games of the year. Continue reading

Top Ten Games Of 2017

This was a much crazier year than last year. When I had to make my top ten last year, I had only played a total of thirteen games all year. That’s how games I don’t even particularly like, such as Pokemon Go, made it on to my list. This year, I’ve played over thirty. That means that not only did I have to make way more cuts, but there isn’t a single game on here that I didn’t love. That’s better if you ask me. Continue reading

Sony’s Press Conference Falls Short Of Greatness

As I mentioned in my post about the Microsoft press conference, I’m a bigger fan of Xbox platforms than Sony ones. But even I can’t deny that Sony consistently has had the best E3 press conferences the last few years. From destroying the Xbox One’s nonsense DRM policies, to launching the PS4 at $100 less than their competition, to revealing dream games like Shenmue III and Final Fantasy VII Remake, Sony always brings their A game to E3. Which is why it’s a pretty  big bummer for me to say that I felt let down this year. Continue reading

E3 2017 Predictions

E3 is about a month away, and that means it’s time to start guessing what’s going to happen! This has been a yearly tradition of mine since long before I started this blog. Usually, I would post them as a long Facebook post. Last year, I did the usual post and wrote up a more detailed one here. This year, I’m just going to post them here, since the Facebook post gets buried pretty quickly. Continue reading

Circling Forward 11-29-16: The One Before The Game Awards

You might remember that last week, I mentioned that I would be posting a first impressions piece on Pokemon Sun and Moon. Well, I ran into one little problem with that. I kept playing the game instead of writing about it. I’m now just about twenty hours into the game and have beaten three out of the four kahunas. At this point, “first impressions” doesn’t really make any sense, so I’ve decided instead to wait until I’ve beaten the game and post a full review. Sorry about the wait for Pokemon content, but it’ll be a better read this way, I think. Continue reading
