Random Games Wednesdays: The Escapists (Xbox One)

The Escapists is a game that I’ve known existed for a long time, but had no idea what it actually was. It was just this game that was constantly on sale on Xbox, and at one point was free for Xbox Live Gold members. That’s when I picked it up and it’s been sitting on my hard drive ever since. Today, I barely scratched the surface, but I can now say that I know what this game is. Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Fire Emblem Warriors

I do not like the Dynasty Warriors games and I’ve only just recently started to play the Fire Emblem series, so it was not very likely that I would pick up the Dynasty Warriors-style Fire Emblem game. However, a good Amazon sale can be hard to ignore, and one day I found myself with a copy of the special edition of Fire Emblem Warriors. I didn’t play it, mind you. It just kind of sat on my shelf, looking kind of cool with its extra large box. This morning, the random number generator decided it was time to finally put it in my Switch and see how it is. Random Game Wednesdays: Never Stop Sneakin’ (Nintendo Switch)

One of my favorite indie games of all time is Dust: An Elysian Tail. One of my favorite AAA games of all time is Metal Gear Solid. With those things in  mind, I was extremely excited when Humble Hearts, developer of Dust, announced that their second game would be a parody of Metal Gear Solid. I was a little skeptical, as it didn’t look anything like their first game, but happily bought it the day it came out. Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Grabbed By The Ghoulies (Rare Replay)

When Grabbed by the Ghoulies first released it was not very well liked, and it’s pretty easy to see why. This was the first game that Rare put out on a Microsoft console after being bought by the company, so immediately there were some angry Nintendo fans that didn’t want anything to do with it. Add on the fact that unlike the last several Rare games, this was a pretty small and basic game but was still full price, and you get a recipe for disappointment. However, looking at it now, the game does have some things that make it worth checking out.  Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Atari Video Cube (Atari Flashback Classics Vol. 2)

The second Atari Flashback Classics collection must be full of games that I’ve never heard of before. Just like Gravitar, Atari Video Cube is a game I knew nothing about, but actually came away pretty impressed. It’s still an Atari 2600 game, and thus you can’t expect a whole lot of depth. But, what’s here is pretty cool. Continue reading
