The Nintendo Labo Variety Kit Is More Than Just Cardboard

The Nintendo Labo Variety Kit is a cardboard box filled with several pieces of cardboard. It’s very easy to dismiss the whole thing as some weird children’s toy that Nintendo slapped out, rather then the next big thing for the Switch, but that’s not giving it enough credit. Dig a little deeper and you’ll find an incredibly satisfying building experience that creates some genuinely amazing toys. Continue reading

Fire Emblem Awakening Check-in: Week 7 FINALE

I wasn’t expecting to finish playing through Fire Emblem Awakening before writing this episode, but I had gotten really into the game after last week’s and kind of just kept playing it. Quite a bit happened this time, a couple children from the future showed up, the true villain revealed himself, and we saw the end credits. But, before we get to all that, let’s go over some numbers one last time. My final play time is 21 hours, 46 minutes, and 15 seconds, and Ivan Ooze ended the game as a level 5 Grandmaster. Rare’s Back, But Was Sea Of Thieves Worth The Wait?

After a few years of showing up at E3 and other similar events with very little to show, Sea of Thieves finally released about three weeks ago. Not only was the pirate themed co-op game in development for a long time, but it had been even longer since Rare put out a proper AAA title. Regardless of how little was shown of the game, I knew I’d be picking it up at release just to finally see what one of my favorite developers had been up to. But, is there more to the game than what was shown, or was the lack of information an indication of a lack of content? Continue reading

Fire Emblem Awakening Check-In: Week 6

There’s been a lot of Fire Emblem happening over here lately. From last week’s taste of Fire Emblem Warriors, constantly checking in on the current Voting Gauntlet in Fire Emblem Heroes, and of course playing more Awakening, I just can’t seem to stop playing Fire Emblem games. Which is weird because up until very recently, I really didn’t have any interest in it. But hey, now I’m playing this stuff and it’s time to see what happened this week. First, let’s go over some numbers. My current play time is just under 17 hours, I’m currently on chapter 21, and due to a class change, Ivan Ooze is now level 4. Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Fire Emblem Warriors

I do not like the Dynasty Warriors games and I’ve only just recently started to play the Fire Emblem series, so it was not very likely that I would pick up the Dynasty Warriors-style Fire Emblem game. However, a good Amazon sale can be hard to ignore, and one day I found myself with a copy of the special edition of Fire Emblem Warriors. I didn’t play it, mind you. It just kind of sat on my shelf, looking kind of cool with its extra large box. This morning, the random number generator decided it was time to finally put it in my Switch and see how it is. Continue reading

Fire Emblem Awakening Check-In: Week 5

Once again, it’s time to check in to my progress with Fire Emblem Awakening, but this time it’ll be a little different. See, since the last time I played the game to write this feature, Nintendo shut down Miiverse, which was my way of taking screenshots, as I do not own any sort of 3DS capture device. That means, there will be no screenshots in this post. But don’t worry, I’ve found a totally reasonable and not at all ridiculous alternative. You’ll see soon enough, but first, we need to talk about numbers. My current play time is just over thirteen hours, I’m currently on chapter 18, and Ivan Ooze is level 15. Continue reading
