Random Game Wednesdays: Fire Emblem Warriors

I do not like the Dynasty Warriors games and I’ve only just recently started to play the Fire Emblem series, so it was not very likely that I would pick up the Dynasty Warriors-style Fire Emblem game. However, a good Amazon sale can be hard to ignore, and one day I found myself with a copy of the special edition of Fire Emblem Warriors. I didn’t play it, mind you. It just kind of sat on my shelf, looking kind of cool with its extra large box. This morning, the random number generator decided it was time to finally put it in my Switch and see how it is. Fire Emblem Awakening Check-In: Week 5

Once again, it’s time to check in to my progress with Fire Emblem Awakening, but this time it’ll be a little different. See, since the last time I played the game to write this feature, Nintendo shut down Miiverse, which was my way of taking screenshots, as I do not own any sort of 3DS capture device. That means, there will be no screenshots in this post. But don’t worry, I’ve found a totally reasonable and not at all ridiculous alternative. You’ll see soon enough, but first, we need to talk about numbers. My current play time is just over thirteen hours, I’m currently on chapter 18, and Ivan Ooze is level 15. Continue reading

Fire Emblem Awakening Check-In: Week (?) 4

It’s been a long time since I wrote one of these. Week 3 came out in October. The funny thing is, I actually played my weekly chunk of the game all the way back then, but just never got around to writing about it. Which means, my memory of the events are hazy at best. So, this is going to be a real fun one. But before we start all that, we need to go through some numbers. I’m currently on chapter 15, I’ve played about ten and a half hours, and Ivan Ooze is level 15. Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Never Stop Sneakin’ (Nintendo Switch)

One of my favorite indie games of all time is Dust: An Elysian Tail. One of my favorite AAA games of all time is Metal Gear Solid. With those things in  mind, I was extremely excited when Humble Hearts, developer of Dust, announced that their second game would be a parody of Metal Gear Solid. I was a little skeptical, as it didn’t look anything like their first game, but happily bought it the day it came out. Continue reading

I’m Back!

If you’ve been following my blog, you’ve probably noticed that there’s been an exteme lack of posts so far this year. My life got really busy and the fact of the matter is, I don’t make any money of this site, so it has to be a thing I do for fun when I find time rather than a priority. The good news is, things are finally starting to calm down, so I’m recommitting to putting out the same amount of content that I used to!  Continue reading

Kirby Star Allies Demo Impressions

A few days ago, Nintendo released a demo for Kirby Star Allies on the European eShop, but for us Americans who didn’t want to bother with making a European profile, it just came out today. I’ve always really liked Kirby, especially Kirby’s Adventure on the NES, so I’ve been really looking forward to the pink puffball’s debut on the Nintendo Switch. Now that the demo is out, we can get a pretty good idea of how the game is shaping up. Continue reading

The January Nintendo Direct: Predicting An Event That Hasn’t Been Announced Yet

There will be a Nintendo Direct this month. I mean, they haven’t actually said that they’re going to, but they are. It just makes sense. We’re coming up on the one year anniversary of their Nintendo Switch event, which basically spelled out their plans for 2017. Plus there’s been a ton of leaks, one of which is an internal timeline for marketing the game Fe that straight up says that it’ll be shown during the January Direct. So, it’s happening. But what will be shown, and more importantly, what do I want to be shown?

Man, if it doesn’t happen, this is the dumbest start to an article. Continue reading
