Fire Emblem Awakening Check-in: Week 7 FINALE

I wasn’t expecting to finish playing through Fire Emblem Awakening before writing this episode, but I had gotten really into the game after last week’s and kind of just kept playing it. Quite a bit happened this time, a couple children from the future showed up, the true villain revealed himself, and we saw the end credits. But, before we get to all that, let’s go over some numbers one last time. My final play time is 21 hours, 46 minutes, and 15 seconds, and Ivan Ooze ended the game as a level 5 Grandmaster. Fire Emblem Awakening Check-In: Week 6

There’s been a lot of Fire Emblem happening over here lately. From last week’s taste of Fire Emblem Warriors, constantly checking in on the current Voting Gauntlet in Fire Emblem Heroes, and of course playing more Awakening, I just can’t seem to stop playing Fire Emblem games. Which is weird because up until very recently, I really didn’t have any interest in it. But hey, now I’m playing this stuff and it’s time to see what happened this week. First, let’s go over some numbers. My current play time is just under 17 hours, I’m currently on chapter 21, and due to a class change, Ivan Ooze is now level 4. Continue reading

Fire Emblem Awakening Check-In: Week 5

Once again, it’s time to check in to my progress with Fire Emblem Awakening, but this time it’ll be a little different. See, since the last time I played the game to write this feature, Nintendo shut down Miiverse, which was my way of taking screenshots, as I do not own any sort of 3DS capture device. That means, there will be no screenshots in this post. But don’t worry, I’ve found a totally reasonable and not at all ridiculous alternative. You’ll see soon enough, but first, we need to talk about numbers. My current play time is just over thirteen hours, I’m currently on chapter 18, and Ivan Ooze is level 15. Continue reading

Welcome Back, Samus

It’s been really rough being a Metroid fan. It’s been over seven years since the last mainline game in the series came out, Metroid: Other M. That game is, in my opinion, not very good, making it around ten years since the last game in the series that I really enjoyed came out, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Last year, we had a spin-off game, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, a game that is not the disaster that the internet would have you believe it is, but is absolutely not the game we had waited so long for. Continue reading

Fire Emblem Awakening Check-In: Week 2

Much like the first entry in this series, I didn’t have nearly as much time to play Awakening as I wanted. It’s really hard to find time to play old games when you’re trying to keep up on this year’s ridiculous number of great games and work a full-time job. But I got some time in and made some progress, so let’s talk about it. As always, let’s go over some numbers. I’ve put in about four hours of play, I’m on chapter 6, and Ivan Ooze is currently level 7. Continue reading

Fire Emblem Awakening Check-In: Week 1

I’ve spent a weirdly large amount of time with Fire Emblem games this year, when you consider that it’s not a series that I’ve ever really put any serious time into. There’s Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, a game I didn’t finish, but really enjoyed and need to get back to. And then of course there’s Fire Emblem Heroes, a mobile game that I find myself playing every single day. With this new found interest in Fire Emblem, I really should play through one of the more fan-favorite titles in the series. So, now I’m playing thorugh Fire Emblem Awakening.  Continue reading
