We all know the successor to the Nintendo Switch is coming in the near future. I mentioned this back in my Mars After Midnight review, but this has been the year that I finally spent serious time with my Playdate. I preordered it the day preorders became available, received it about a year later and then… goofed off with it for an hour or two and put it down. It’s not that I didn’t have fun with it, but there just was nothing there that really held my interest. But things changed this year.

It stands for National Novel Writing Month, and the idea is that you would write every single day of November to try to have a draft of a novel written by the end of the month. If you follow gaming rumors at all, you’ve almost certainly heard about the possible Nintendo Direct hitting in the coming weeks. Personally, I don’t think any of the “leaks” are real, but I do think they’re popping up now because a Direct being right around the corner makes a lot of sense. There’s almost always one in either January or February, and since we didn’t get one in January, it makes sense that we can expect one very soon.
It’s a new year, and with that comes new plans for the blog. The last few years, I’ve really fallen off of regularly writing new posts. I’m hoping to correct that this year. This will be a really quick post, I just want to go over what I’m planning to do.
Hey, it’s been awhile. Last thing I wrote was my predictions for E3 2021. I didn’t even write anything for E3 itself. I don’t really have an excuse for that, but I’m going to try to jump back in. So first, here’s a quick catch up on the almost half a year that I didn’t say anything.
This has been a pretty weird year, right? I don’t really need to get into how unprecedented the times are, you’ve heard it all already, but as a result, there is no E3 this year. I was not expecting to be playing the private beta for The Division 2. Beta entry was a preorder bonus, and I definitely didn’t preorder the game. I didn’t even play the first one or have any interest in the second. But what I did do was watch about ten minutes of Inside Xbox on Mixer a couple days ago to get an exclusive compass for Sea Of Thieves, and apparently that also earned me beta access. I’m probably the least qualified person to talk about this game, but hey, I played for an hour or so, so here’s what I thought. Continue reading
