A Prime Remaster

A few weeks ago, Nintendo announced and released Metroid Prime Remastered digitally as part of their Nintendo Direct. They also announced that a physical version would be coming two weeks later, and since I’m a weirdo who likes putting games on my shelf, I decided to wait. The wait was difficult, as Metroid Prime is one of my all time favorite games, but I have the game now. A lot has changed in the slightly over twenty years since Prime’s original release on the GameCube. Is the game still one of the best, or is that nostalgia-fueled rose-tinted glasses?

Top Ten Games Of 2017

This was a much crazier year than last year. When I had to make my top ten last year, I had only played a total of thirteen games all year. That’s how games I don’t even particularly like, such as Pokemon Go, made it on to my list. This year, I’ve played over thirty. That means that not only did I have to make way more cuts, but there isn’t a single game on here that I didn’t love. That’s better if you ask me. Continue reading

Welcome Back, Samus

It’s been really rough being a Metroid fan. It’s been over seven years since the last mainline game in the series came out, Metroid: Other M. That game is, in my opinion, not very good, making it around ten years since the last game in the series that I really enjoyed came out, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Last year, we had a spin-off game, Metroid Prime: Federation Force, a game that is not the disaster that the internet would have you believe it is, but is absolutely not the game we had waited so long for.
