Bethesda’s Press Conference Was Uneventful

A couple years ago, Bethesda had their first E3 press conference, and it was a pretty big deal. Fallout 4 was shown off after having just been announced a little bit before and Doom looked incredible. While there wasn’t a ton of announcements, they felt they justified why they needed one of their own. Last year was less of a big deal, but they had Skyrim Special Edition and Quake Heroes, plus some VR titles. It was pretty cool. This year’s show was pretty different, however. Continue reading

My Ten Favorite Games Of 2016

2016 was a pretty good year for video games. Unfortunately, I didn’t have nearly as much disposable income to buy games as I had in years past, and the end result is that a lot of the biggest games of the year, I haven’t played. I also, don’t own a PlayStation 4, so I haven’t played games like Uncharted 4 or The Last Guardian. But, I was still able to come up with a list of ten games that I played this year. You Need to Play Doom

About a month ago, Star Fox Zero came out, and to it I asked what it meant to be a Star Fox game in 2016. And although I enjoyed the game a great deal, it didn’t really have an answer. It was just kind of, “I don’t know, how about just Star Fox 64 again?” Doom is in a very similar situation. Despite being one of the earliest and most fondly remembered first person shooters, the original Doom doesn’t really resemble a modern game in the slightest.
