Random Game Wednesdays: Predator (NES)

It’s been a while since the random number generator gave me a crappy NES licensed game. But, today it gave me one that I had played a lot growing up. I’m pretty sure I had actually played the game before I had ever even seen the movie. This was one of those games that even though you knew it wasn’t very good, you just kept playing it. There’s a lot of those for me on the NES. So, how does Predator stack up so much later? Continue reading

Circling Forward 11-22-16, The One Where I’m Excited About Everything

Did you know that it’s been 3852 days since Final Fantasy Versus XIII was announced? Back then, it wasn’t even clear what that game was. Was it another game in the Final Fantasy XIII universe? It didn’t sound like it, or look like it, but then why was it called “XIII”? And Versus what? But, after a decade of development, that kind of doesn’t matter anymore. It missed the entire generation of consoles it was originally supposed to be out on and got a name change. As hard as it is to believe, after all that time, Final Fantasy XV is out in a week. Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Blast Corps (Rare Replay)

I was hoping to have my set up for capturing game footage done by this week, but it’s not quite there yet. So, for the sake of easy screenshots, I once again decided to take a look at Rare Replay. This time, the random number generator gave me a game that I rented as a kid, but didn’t really play a whole lot of. In fact, the only thing I clearly remembered was the map screen music, with the words “time to get moving” repeating over and over. So, what kind of first impression (or, technically second impression) does Blast Corps give in 2016? Continue reading

Circling Forward 11-14-16, The One Where I Play A Lot Of Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I never would have guessed that I’d be spending the majority of my free time in November 2016 playing 2012’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf. But, as I’m sure most of you are aware, a big update to the game came out a little under two weeks ago, and suddenly it’s become part of my daily routine again.  The funny thing about it, is that although the update did add substantial content, most of what I’ve been doing I could have been doing the whole time. Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Cobra Triangle (Rare Replay)

If you follow me on social media, you may have seen that my laptop’s hard drive recently died on me. I did all of my blogging on that laptop, including capturing game footage for screenshots. I’m now using my desktop, which is connected to my TV because I couldn’t get my monitor to work for some reason. I have my keyboard and mouse sitting on my coffee table and I am sitting on the floor. As of right now, I don’t have the capture software installed on my computer, so for the sake of time, I thought it would be best to play something that didn’t require capture equipment to make screenshots. So, I returned to Rare Replay this week. Continue reading

So, What’s Replacing Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Check-in?

Earlier this week, I finally finished playing through Tokyo Mirage Sessions, ending another weekly series. The whole point of these weekly series’ is to make sure that no matter how busy I am or how slow a news week it is, I will always have at least two posts each week. I don’t have to think about what I’m going to write for Random Game Wednesdays, because the random number generator handles it for me, and I didn’t have to think about Tokyo Mirage Sessions or Xenoblade Chronicles X because I just stuck with the same game for weeks on end. But now what am I going to do? Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Bubble Bobble (NES)

Every once in a while, the random number generator gives me a game that I absolutely adore. This is one of those weeks. Bubble Bobble is a game that I spent a ton of time playing growing up, and unlike a lot of games, it’s every bit as good today as it was back then. This is one of those reviews where I had to remind myself to stop playing the game so that I could get some writing done about it. Continue reading

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Check-in: Week 11

It’s that time again. Let’s take a look at how my progress in Tokyo Mirage Sessions is going. This week, I got further in the main story, did the final side quest, and got some grinding done in preparation for the final boss. You know the drill by now, before we get to all that, we have to talk numbers. Itsuki is currently level 61, I’m still in chapter 6, and my current play time is 46 hours and 44 minutes. Continue reading
