Dragon Age: Origins Check-In Week 6

Once again, it’s time to check in with my progress in Dragon Age: Origins. And, unlike last week, I’m actually writing this in a timely manner, so I have a pretty good idea of what went down. This week, I take care of a couple of my party members’ personal quests, as well as start working on recruiting the dwarves to help out with the blight. But, as always, let’s go over some numbers before I start. Ivan Ooze is currently level 14 and my total play time is 19 hours . Continue reading

Hey, Where’s Random Game Wednesdays?

If you’re a reader of this blog, you probably noticed that this week’s Random Game Wednesdays has not yet been posted. Well, I had kind of a busy morning this morning and didn’t get a chance to play anything, which happens sometimes. Usually, when that happens, I’ll play and post later in the day. Unfortunately, I work at 2 in the morning tomorrow and will only be up for another hour or so. So, Random Game Wednesdays this week should be out on Thursday. With any luck, I’ll get the second episode of Dragon Age Origins Check-In up too. Thanks for the patience!

Fire Emblem Heroes: First Impressions

I’m probably the last person who should be talking about Fire Emblem Heroes. I have almost no connection with the series, having only played some of Awakening and all of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. To me, Lucina is the character I play as the most in Super Smash Bros., and the fact that she was in another game is almost irrelevant. That’s not to say I don’t like Fire Emblem, what I’ve played has been great. I just don’t have a lot of experience with it. But despite all that, when Nintendo puts out a new free-to-play mobile game, I need to see what it’s about. Continue reading

My Thoughts on the Nintendo Switch

About one week ago, Nintendo finally gave us some firm details on their next console, the Switch. I was obviously extremely excited to finally learn about the console’s release date, price, launch lineup, and whatever else they wanted to tell us. A week later and with plenty of time to ponder everything, I’m still very positive on the whole thing. It’s not perfect, but it is really cool. Continue reading

Killer Instinct Gold Gameplay Video

Hey everyone. Just like last week, I decided to upload my play session of Killer Instinct Gold to my new YouTube channel. There’s no talking or editing or anything, it’s just raw footage of me playing Killer Instinct pretty badly. If you want to check it out, you can see it right here. Let me know what you think of these. Is it interesting to see my actual play session after reading my Random Game Wednesdays post?

My Ten Favorite Games Of 2016

2016 was a pretty good year for video games. Unfortunately, I didn’t have nearly as much disposable income to buy games as I had in years past, and the end result is that a lot of the biggest games of the year, I haven’t played. I also, don’t own a PlayStation 4, so I haven’t played games like Uncharted 4 or The Last Guardian. But, I was still able to come up with a list of ten games that I played this year. It’s probably pretty different from most of the lists you’ve seen on other sites. Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Pong (Atari Flashback Classics Vol 1)

One of the gifts I received for Christmas this year was a copy of Atari Flashback Classics Vol 1 for the Xbox One. It includes over 50 old Atari games, some from the arcade and some from the 2600. As these were all games that I didn’t have any way of capturing footage of previously, I thought it would be fun to let the random number generator pick one to talk about on the blog this week. Unfortunately, the game it chose is so basic that I can’t imagine actually being able to write about it for more than a couple paragraphs. Well, let’s give this a shot. Continue reading

Circling Forward 12/21/16: The One Where I Wrote A New One Of These

It’s been a while, huh? Other than Random Game Wednesdays, the only post on my blog in the last three weeks was a quick update. I apologize for that. I’ve been trying to finish up Pokemon Sun before the end of the year, plus dealing with Christmas. It turns out, when you’re doing a lot of stuff that isn’t writing, it’s harder to find the time to write.  Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Hey You, Pikachu! (N64)

Sometimes, games come out that are very difficult to describe. Maybe they’re overly complicated or maybe their objectives are just hard to put into words. And then there’s other times when you can describe the whole thing in a single sentence and then have to try to write a decently long entry anyway. Hey You, Pikachu is a game where you talk to Pikachu. That’s about it.  Continue reading

Just a quick update

Hey everyone, I’m still alive! Sorry for the lack of posts since last Wednesday. I’ve been spending all my free time playing Final Fantasy XV, and as of this morning, beat it! So, you can expect a full review in a day or two. You can also expect this week’s Random Game Wednesdays some time tonight. That’s all I’ve got for you right now, so look forward to more content starting tonight!
