Digging Up Sea Of Thieves’ New Game Changers

Yesterday I wrote about Animal Crossing, one of the games that I’ve been playing regularly for years. Today, I decided to write about the other one, Sea of Thieves. If you’re a long time reader of this blog, you know how much I like that game. It was my game of the year back in 2018 when it first came out and has only gotten better as more features have been added over the years. I thought I’d take a little time to talk about some of the newest stuff and what I thought of them.

E3 Or Whatever Predictions 2024

It’s that time of the year again. E3 itself may be gone forever, but video game companies will still absolutely make big announcements in May and June.  As always, I’m here to make predictions about them. There will almost certainly be more, but I’ve chosen five shows to make predictions for. Three that we already know the dates for, one that we know the month it’ll happen in, and one that according to leaks should be happening in the next week or so.

Top Ten Games of 2023

It’s the start of the new year and that means it’s time to reflect on my favorite games of last year. As I do every year, I will be listing my ten favorite games of the year, with a couple rules. One is that remasters don’t qualify, as these are not new games, however full remakes would count. This is a weird year for that, as there are a couple examples of games that really walk the line between remake and remaster, and I may have broken that rule depending on how you look at it, maybe even how I looked at it if you go back and read what I originally said about it earlier in the year. The other rule is that the game had to release for the first time in the US in 2023. I don’t think there’s any weird examples of that with what I played, but it does come up in some previous years.

Top 10 Most Anticipated Games Of 2023

2023 is shaping up to be a very good year for video games. With all the games coming out, I thought it would be fun to list my ten most anticipated games. Well, that and we’re on the last day of the week and I haven’t written a blog post yet and this seemed like something I could do pretty quick. But to give it at least a little effort, I’ve decided to list them in the order of my excitement, not simply by release date. So, here’s the list. Continue reading

Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo Impressions

It wasn’t any sort of surprise that following the success of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, a remake of 4 would soon follow. It is a little disappointing for some people, like me, that Capcom chose to skip over Code Veronica, an important chapter in the overall story and a game that’s more in need a remake in favor of 4, but it is a logical idea. The original Resident Evil 4 shook up the formula of the series, going in a more action heavy direction that brought in a much larger audience than the previous games, and would go on to influence the survival horror genre in general. The remake comes out at the end of this month, and like they did with the last few Resident Evil games, Capcom has put out a demo. So let’s take a look at it.

How About That Direct?| Xbox Developer_Direct 1/25/2023

When I decided to bring back the feature “How About That Direct?”, I assumed that the first post would be about a Nintendo Direct. After all, there usually is one around this time of the year, and they’re by far the presentations I get the most excited about, outside of E3 anyway. But no, Xbox decided to put on a show today, and they even used the “Direct” name, so of course, I had to watch it and I want to talk about it.

Resident Evil Village Gold Edition Demo Impressions

So many games that I’ve loved have come out in 2022, all of which I should have written about. That new Kirby? Might be the best Kirby of all time. Elden Ring? I’ve never been able to get into a Soulslike but that one actually held my attention. Xenoblade Chronicles 3? One of the best JRPGs I’ve ever played. But none of those were able to get my lazy ass to sit down and actually write about them. Maybe I will some day. But you know what did? Capcom put out a demo for Resident Evil Village. It’s the same demo they put out before, but now you can play in third person. Let’s talk about it. Continue reading
