Mario Kart World First Impressions

The Nintendo Switch 2 is here and with it comes its flagship title, Mario Kart World. It’s an interesting choice for the main launch title. Usually there’s an epic adventure, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Twilight Princess for their respective consoles. But Mario Kart reaches such a giant audience. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is by far the highest selling game on the original Switch, so leading with a new game in the series absolutely makes sense. Is this game enough to carry the launch of a new console?

Countdown To Switch 2: Most Anticipated Games

At the time of this writing, we are twenty-three days away from the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s pretty crazy to think about. The original Switch came out about a year after I started this blog, and it’s been easily the console I’ve talked about the most here. But, it’s time to transition to the next console, and with that comes a bunch of new games. So, I thought I’d talk about the games I’m most excited for.

How About That Direct?| Nintendo Switch 2 4/2/25

After months of waiting and rampant speculation, we finally got some real information on the Nintendo Switch 2. Obviously, I’ve been losing my mind over the possibilities this whole time. There are very few things I enjoy as much as I enjoy a new Nintendo platform’s launch, and this is only the second one to happen since I started writing this blog! But, did the Direct live up to my expectations?

Our Cardboard Future

When Nintendo Labo first came out, I saw a lot of people talking about games getting “Labo support”. This really confused me, since it really didn’t seem like that was the direction Nintendo was going in. They had put out two different sets, the Labo Variety Kit and the Labo Robot Kit, and both were very self-contained experiences. Nintendo even went as far as to announce Labo in its own separate video, with no connection to any other game and without even using the Nintendo Direct banner. So, what is this Labo support everyone is talking about? Clearly, everyone had gone insane. But then, Nintendo patched Labo support into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.  Continue reading

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: First Impressions

It’s weird to think that Mario Kart 8 is already a three year old game. It really doesn’t feel like that long ago that I bought the game and obsessively played through every grand prix on every difficulty until I had a three star ranking on each one. Now Nintendo has put the game back out on their new Switch platform. Does the game still hold up after three years? And more importantly, is it worth double-dipping? Continue reading

Random Game Wednesdays: Super Mario Kart (SNES)

Random Game Wednesdays is kind of a weird series on this blog. Because I let a random number generator choose the game I cover, we end up with a strange assortment, and you never quite know what you’re going to get. Sometimes I get obscure games that have been sitting on my shelf ever since I found them at Goodwill years ago. Other times, I get undisputed classics. This week is the latter. Continue reading
