Much like the first entry in this series, I didn’t have nearly as much time to play Awakening as I wanted. It’s really hard to find time to play old games when you’re trying to keep up on this year’s ridiculous number of great games and work a full-time job. But I got some time in and made some progress, so let’s talk about it. As always, let’s go over some numbers. I’ve spent a weirdly large amount of time with Fire Emblem games this year, when you consider that it’s not a series that I’ve ever really put any serious time into. There’s Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, a game I didn’t finish, but really enjoyed and need to get back to. And then of course there’s Fire Emblem Heroes, a mobile game that I find myself playing every single day. With this new found interest in Fire Emblem, I really should play through one of the more fan-favorite titles in the series. So, now I’m playing thorugh Fire Emblem Awakening. Continue reading

I’ve mentioned a few times in other blog posts that I have very little experience with Fire Emblem. In fact, Fire Emblem Heroes is easily the Fire Emblem game that I’ve spent the most amount of time with. I did play a little bit of Awakening, however. I’m probably the last person who should be talking about Fire Emblem Heroes. I have almost no connection with the series, having only played some of Awakening and all of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. To me, Lucina is the character I play as the most in Super Smash Bros., and the fact that she was in another game is almost irrelevant. That’s not to say I don’t like Fire Emblem, what I’ve played has been great. I just don’t have a lot of experience with it. But despite all that, when Nintendo puts out a new free-to-play mobile game, I need to see what it’s about. Continue reading
