One of the most important questions that has been asked repeatedly through the years is, who is the best Animal Crossing villager. Everyone has their own favorites, but I’m here to tell you mine. And as someone who has played all the games and has played New Horizons every day since its release, I think my opinion is obviously the right one. Obviously.

Phil is an ostrich of the smug variety. He has a cool look, with his red color around his eyes and blue feathers everywhere else. He’s always making jokes and saying “ha HA!” which I like a lot. And I had his catchphrase be “Asstritch” for a while, which I like a lot. Nowadays he’s saying “eggshole”.

Mira is a yellow sisterly rabbit. The reason I like her though is that her default outfit is clearly a reference to Super Sentai, the Japanese series that has been adapted into Power Rangers. I love both Super Sentai and Power Rangers, so I was more than happy to welcome this rabbit into my island family.

My absolute favorite villager has always been Punchy. I’ve had him in just about all of my Animal Crossing towns and he was who I put the most effort into trying to get in New Horizons. He’s a lazy cat villager with a white face and black ears. He has a funny look on his face all the time, with his half shut eyes and squiggly smile. He always has something funny to say, and I’m always glad to say hi to him.
